Laser Fire Detection
Beam Detectors
Optical Beam Smoke Detector is used to provide "wide area" smoke detection. These are generally practical. Traditional point type detector is used in environments where installation and operation is difficult. (installation, wiring and maintenance) It also provides wide coverage at low cost. Optical Beam Smoke Detectors are ideal for high ceilings, dusty and dirty environments, or you may encounter extremely hot environments.
Typical applications:
- Conference and Exhibition Centers
- Shopping malls
- Historical buildings
- Mosques
- Museums
- High Ceiling areas
- Production Facilities
- Warehouses
- Airports
- Hotels and Casinos
- Sports and Entertainment Centers
Beam Smoke Detector Types: Optical Beam Smoke Detector works on the principle of darkening of light. Optical Beam Smoke Detector photosensitive element sees light produced by the Transmitter in normal condition. The receiver is calibrated to a preset sensitivity level based on the percentage of total blackening. There are two general types of Beam Optical Smoke Detector - Projected and Reflective. The type used will be dictated by the installation and environmental conditions and restrictions.
Projected Beam Smoke Detectors: The transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) area must be protected up to 100 meters separately installed at each end. The Receiver Control Unit is electrically connected to a second entity installed at ground level. Projected Optical Beam Smoke Detectors are less sensitive to leak reflection as the reflections go back to the Transmitter. As a result, the Projected Optical Smoke Detector Beam can operate within narrow gaps left in the operating environment. In addition, Projected Optical Smoke Detector Beam Emitter and Receiver units are often considered into compact and easy "aesthetic" architectural designs.
Reflective Beam Smoke Detectors: Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX) are contained in one unit. Up to 100Metres away from the transmitted infrared ray reflected by the back reflector (prism), it is mounted across the unit. The receiver is connected to a control unit that can be either integrated with the Transceiver or mounted at ground level. Reflected Optical Beam Smoke Detectors use less wiring (power and wiring required only at the end of the Radio) and only require the Transceiver to be aligned. However the Reflected Optical Beam Smoke Detector Beam can be vulnerable to reflective items near the IR beam path. Because the reflector has a wide acceptance angle, it does not need to be correctly aligned at both ends of the projected Optical Smoke Detector Beam.
